Harold Macmillan: Cake Cutting Assistant

Of the many and varies roles that Harold Macmillan pursued as a former Prime Minister, who would have thought that helping to cut a cake would be one of them?  Well, it was.

As reported in a story in the 1 November edition of the East Grinstead Courier, accessible here, the photograph of the ex-PM below appeared on their front page in October 1977.  It was taken when he attended the Golden Wedding anniversary party of his former gamekeeper.

It's certainly one thing to do once office has gone away.
